At the bottom of the artwork, the number “No. 5” appears in white against a dark background. Layers of violet and deep blue tones form the backdrop, interwoven with handwritten fragments and expressive textures.

Devin Miles (*1961, Duisburg) has expanded his body of work with portrait series in which film icons meet symbols from art and cultural history. His mixed-media technique, combining screen printing, painting, and digital image processing, enables him to condense multiple layers of meaning into a single image.
